Erin
Malley
is the Artistic Director
of Malleable Dance
Theater, a
non-profit organization
founded in 2007 in New
York, NY. |
Her
choreography has been
presented internationally and
nationally, most notably at
the Prague International Dance
Festival, Toronto
International Fringe Festival,
Joe’s Pub at the Dancenow
Festival (NYC), HERE Arts
Center (NYC), Dance Place
(Washington, DC), and the
Philly Fringe Festival (PA).
She completed a successful
residency at the Garage in San
Francisco in February 2011.
Erin was
Artist-in-Residence with
Education for the Arts (MI),
and currently conducts annual
residencies at the United
Nations International School
(NYC). She is a two-time
recipient of the Irving S.
Gilmore Emerging Artist Grant,
and received an Education for
the Arts Artistic Development
Grant. She has studied dance
with Zvi Gotheiner, Augusta
Moore, and members of
Batsheva Dance Company.
Her choreographic studies
included work with Margo
Sappington and Mark Dendy.
Dawn Stoppiello and Mark
Coniglio of Troika Ranch
have been her primary mentors
in media and video design. She
has performed the work of
Emily Johnson, Charles
Moulton, David Dorfman, Lisa
Race, Lar Lubovitch, and
Kathleen Hermesdorf.
With a BFA in
Dance and French from Western
Michigan University, she was
the Presidential Scholar in
Dance of her graduating class.
Post-graduation, she continued
her studies for one year at
the Centre Choregraphique
National de Montpellier in
France.
